University courses – Dr. Marsh held the Cryovac Chair as the first holder of the first endowed chair in Packaging Science in the US between 1997 and 2001.  During that time he taught Fundamentals of Packaging Science, and developed the following courses:

   1) Distribution Packaging - PKG SC 440 - a senior level course (required for Packaging Science majors) including distribution fundamentals, liability, logistics, materials, palletizing, unitizing, warehousing, transporting, environmental concerns, and regulatory concerns.

   2) International Packaging - PKG SC 802 - the first graduate course offered in Packaging Science at Clemson University.  It included ways in which geography, politics, religion and culture influence packaging systems and material choices, and demonstrated different  packaging choices around the globe.

   3) Advanced Flexible Packaging - PKG SC 804 with laboratory - the second graduate course offered in Packaging Science at Clemson University.  It included polymer structure, structural influences on material properties, computer modeling, and an accompanying laboratory for material identification, product testing, and material testing.
